Care guide

Taking good care of your safety shoes will maximize both the performance and lifespan of your shoes. Just follow these tips on how to care for your work shoes. Find out how to care for GORE-TEX-products and different materials such as textile, leather and nubuck.

General information

  • Do not use any corrosive chemicals when cleaning your shoes.
  • Do not machine wash or tumble dry.
  • Extract the inlay soles from your shoes after use to enable the shoes and soles to emit any moisture and dry out until next use.
  • Remove laces before cleaning/brushing any dirt from your shoes.
  • Clean with tepid water. If needed, unscented liquid detergent can also be applied when cleaning your shoes.
  • Do not use bleach.
  • Dry in normal conditions. Don’t use radiators, drying cabinets, etc.
  • Don’t store your shoes in warm, humid, or poorly ventilated areas since it can cause mold.

Textiles and Synthetics

  • Sealants can be applied. Make sure that all shoe surfaces where sealant is applied are thoroughly cleaned before applying.
  • Sealants can be applied several times during the lifespan of the product, when the shoes start to absorb water, it can be time to seal them once again.

Nubuck and Suede Leather

  • Leather cream, spray or polish can be applied to reduce the risk of the leather drying out. However, it’s recommended to start applying on a less visible part of the shoes to avoid discoloration.
  • Make sure that the shoes are thoroughly cleaned on all surfaces that will be treated with cream, spray, or polish, before applying it on the shoes.
  • Wipe off any remaining leather treatment, then once again leave your shoes to dry.
  • Leather cream, spray or polish can be applied several times during the lifespan of the product. When the leather starts looking a bit dry it could be time to polish them again.
